Celebrating 5 Years At Ledger — Then & Now

Five years ago, Ledger came to life. What first started as an idea of securing digital assets for crypto enthusiasts has quickly evolved into the creation of a cutting edge security technology company serving both everyday crypto hodlers and institutional investors. With 200 global employees operating in Paris, New York, Hong Kong and Vierzon, and our soaring ambitions to build upon what we have already accomplished and invented, Ledger shows no signs of slowing down. If anything, we are just getting started…

Today as we celebrate Ledger’s 5th anniversary, it is remarkable to think about where we have come in just a few years. From the beginning, we have prioritized hiring the brightest talent to help us build the products you all have grown to love and trust. Throughout our five year history, this team has been determined to challenge the status quo of what it means to protect critical digital assets in a world so vulnerable to malicious cyber activity. 

Every year as we grew our core teams of leaders, engineers, marketers and salespeople, we aimed to introduce new advancements in our core technology to improve the security and user experience around every product both hardware and software we designed. 

Since Ledger’s inception in 2014, alongside the company’s rapid growth came an impressive product roadmap to include some of Ledger’s most beloved products from the Ledger Nano S and Ledger Nano X to our recent advancements with Ledger Live, and our institutional offering Ledger Vault. Throughout each hardware and software milestone, Ledger quickly established itself as the leader in the digital asset market with today more than 1 million users in over 165 countries and 1.5 million units sold. 

Security is at the core of our DNA and is deeply rooted in our history as a company. 

And as a result, our team of world-class experts have not only built best in class technologies and products, but have truly formed a community of crypto enthusiasts around one of the core pillars of Ledger, which is trust. We did this through the creation of our battle-tested hardware wallets and our tireless efforts of improving our products for storage and self-custody, and furthermore, through our dedication of enhancing security by routinely deploying updates across all our products. 

And with that, to celebrate Ledger’s 5th anniversary, we’d like to introduce the Ledger Nano X To The Moon anniversary edition available today, October 3rd.
