Algorand Ledger

The Algorand app is now available for the Ledger Nano X and the Ledger Nano S! It can be installed onto your device with the Ledger Live Manager and managed through third party wallets. As a matter of fact – it’s the first-ever compatibility with a third party wallet through the Nano X’s Bluetooth!

We’re excited to announce that you can now use either the Ledger Nano X or Ledger Nano S to manage your Algorand (ALGO) and Algorand Standard Assets (ASA). After having installed the app through Ledger Live, you can connect it to either the My Algo web-based wallet or the Algorand Wallet app for iOS and Android.

The Algorand app has been created by community developers, to whom we are deeply grateful for their hard work! This has been part of the coin integration program, where parties outside of Ledger can develop applications for their favorite cryptocurrencies and submit them to us for review. If approved, they will be released on Ledger Live’s Manager for everyone to use.

A Ledger First – Using the Nano X’s Bluetooth with a Third Party Wallet

While we’re already thrilled to have Algorand joining the long list of supported crypto assets, it’s also a unique occasion. The Algorand Wallet app for iOS and Android is the very first wallet application that is compatible with the Ledger Nano X through Bluetooth! This means that you can manage your ALGO with ease, anywhere you go.

We’re deeply thankful to the Algorand team and are looking forward to seeing even more third party mobile wallet applications using Bluetooth!

What is Algorand?

Algorand is described as a Pure Proof of Stake (PPoS) high performance blockchain. It’s a decentralized, open blockchain that equally focuses on its scalability and security. Algorand aims to solve the so-called “Blockchain Trilemma”.
