Canton Coin Now Available on Ledger Wallet™
Canton Coin is now available in Ledger Wallet, giving retail users self-custodied access to an asset built on privacy-enabled, institutional-grade blockchain infrastructure.
Before You Dive In:
- Canton Coin, historically accessible only to validators and institutions building on the Canton network, is now available to retail users on Ledger Wallet.
- Ledger supports Canton-native assets with hardware-backed Clear Signing, meaning you always see exactly what you’re signing before confirming a transaction.
- This integration covers Canton Coin (CC) now, with support for Canton’s growing suite of privacy-enabled assets coming next.
For the first time, retail users can create a Canton account, send and receive Canton Coin, and secure their assets using their Ledger signer and Ledger Wallet™, all while maintaining the privacy and confidentiality that Canton Network is built around. Applications can also begin integrating with Ledger, unlocking new use cases across the Canton ecosystem.
What Is Canton Network?
Canton Network is a public, permissionless blockchain purpose-built for institutional finance. Unlike public blockchains that expose transaction data by default, Canton shares information on a strictly need-to-know basis, preserving commercial and regulatory confidentiality without sacrificing interoperability.
The network already processes over $8 trillion in real-world assets onchain each month, serving as infrastructure for banks, asset managers, and other regulated financial institutions operating across tokenized assets, collateral mobility, and payment workflows.
What Is Canton Coin?
Canton Coin (CC) is the native utility token of Canton Network. Until now, it could only be earned by building, validating, or transacting on the network, making it inaccessible to most retail users. This integration changes that. Through Ledger Wallet,™ you can now hold and transfer CC directly, with your private keys secured by your Ledger signer.
Why Use Canton Coin via Ledger Wallet?
Canton Network was designed to give institutions the benefits of a public blockchain without compromising privacy or control. That same standard now extends to you.
Privacy by design.
Transactions on Canton are not exposed on public block explorers. You can transfer and use digital assets while maintaining confidentiality, a level of discretion that most retail blockchain experiences do not offer.
Hardware-backed Clear Signing.
Every transaction you initiate through Ledger Wallet™ is verified on your Ledger signer’s Secure Screen before it executes. What you see is what you sign. No blind signing, no guesswork.
True digital ownership.
Your private keys never leave your Ledger signer. Ledger does not have access to your assets, and neither does anyone else. Through Ledger Wallet™, you get a seamless, self-custody experience. It’s one place to manage your Canton account, initiate transfers, and track your assets, with your Ledger signer handling every confirmation.
Dual hardware verification.
For institutional users on Ledger Enterprise, an additional layer of multi-validator security protects against phishing, attacks, and any potential loss of funds, setting a new benchmark for institutional self-custody on Canton.

Ledger Wallet: Your Gateway to Institutional-Grade Digital Ownership
The gap between institutional blockchain infrastructure and everyday self-custody has long been a barrier for retail users. This integration is another example of how the Ledger ecosystem closes that gap. Through Ledger Wallet, you now have access to a network that processes trillions in real-world assets each month, secured by the same hardware-backed technology that protects the assets of millions of Ledger users worldwide.
As the digital asset economy continues to evolve, Ledger remains committed to bringing the highest standards of security and ownership to everyone, whether you are an individual securing your first Canton Coin or an institution managing significant onchain assets.
