Ledger Picks Rugby Superstar Trio As Australian Ambassadors
Australian rugby superstars Angus Crichton, Matt Giteau, and Drew Mitchell will join the Ledger family as brand ambassadors for the next year.
Ledger believes in freedom without compromise. What better way to spread our message to Australia, one of the world’s fastest-growing digital asset markets, than through three superstars of rugby, the most uncompromising of sports. So we’re pleased to announce that Angus Crichton, Matt Giteau, and Drew Mitchell will join the Ledger family as a formidable lineup of brand ambassadors for the next year.
A Powerful Lineup for Crypto Security
Ledger has been the leading name in digital asset security for a decade, selling 7.5 million devices and protecting 20% of the crypto market. So it’s fitting that our trio of Australian ambassadors are proven winners, with over 180 tests to their names.
These three sporting icons will collaborate with Ledger across video and podcast appearances, social media content, and in-person events throughout the next 12 months, with one clear goal: to help Australians understand the fundamentals of digital asset security and make crypto ownership safe, simple, and accessible.
Why Rugby Stars Teamed Up with Ledger
When searching the field for strategic partners in Australia, our main criteria were a shared passion for the digital asset space and the focus on security. We were super-impressed by the enthusiasm and crypto knowledge that Angus, Matt, and Drew demonstrated.
Here’s what Drew Mitchell said about his motivation for joining Ledger as an Ambassador.
“When I first entered the world of crypto, I was excited but also a little overwhelmed. There’s so much noise, so many platforms and services, yet very little clear guidance on how to stay secure. That’s where Ledger truly stands out, as an all-in-one, trusted platform for digital assets. Partnering with Ledger is a powerful way to help Australians cut through the confusion and take control of their digital assets with confidence.”

NRL Premiership winner, Angus Crichton
“Crypto is quickly becoming ingrained into our everyday lives, from niche to mainstream. With millions of Australians now holding digital assets, the security side is more critical than ever. I’m truly excited to work with Ledger in raising awareness around the importance of secure self-custody and making crypto much easier to use.”
For Matt Giteau, Wallabies legend, fundamentals matter most:
“Throughout my career, I’ve learnt that fundamentals matter the most – you can’t skip the basics if you want long-term success. Secure self-custody is fundamental for crypto ownership, and I want to help Australian crypto users understand that protecting their digital assets is not complicated when you have the right foundation from the start.”
Rugby & Crypto – Shared Ethos
Passion, solidarity, and discipline – some of the defining characteristics of rugby, and equally true of the crypto community. So it was a natural choice for Ledger to turn to three national icons of the sport to share our message about secure self-custody in one of our most important markets, Australia. We look forward to hearing what they have to say.
