A Unique Approach to Work Organization: Beyond Full Remote

Ledger is not a fully remote company; full remote work is not aligned with the company’s DNA or its innovative culture. The company believes that full remote models can lead to a very vertical and authoritarian approach.

In August 2020, during the COVID-19 period, Ledger made a conscious decision not to succumb to the temptation of full remote work, instead aiming to find a middle ground.

The Future of Work at Ledger is designed to foster innovation, unstructured collaboration, and serve as a meeting place. Ledger’s philosophy is not to force employees back to the office but to authentically incentivize them by providing reasons and opportunities that are not available at home.

The Role of Ledger 106 Temple: A Culture Embodied

The company’s headquarters, 106 Temple, is a significant manifestation of Ledger’s culture and ambition, a project that took 3.5 years to complete. 

The space is designed to provide an immersive workplace experience that supports the company’s broader people strategy from the moment an employee enters. It combines a culture of performance with a strong emphasis on wellbeing and work-life balance.

  • Key installations and amenities designed to enhance the employee experience and support hybrid work include:
    • On-site sports classes and dedicated facilities.
    • A music room and a relaxation room.
    • Terraces and rooftops offering unique views of Paris.
    • A “mailroom” (guichet de poste-like) for employees to receive personal packages, addressing a common inconvenience of working from home.
    • A dedicated mother room to support new mothers returning to work and their maternity projects, ensuring the transition is not a handicap.
    • Downtime rooms and identified meeting points across the large building to promote employee circulation and company life, thereby fighting against organizational silos.
    • Polyvalent spaces like the Olympus room on the 8th floor, which can transform into a sports hall or an all-hands meeting space, fostering collective activities.

HR Philosophy: Investing in Talent and Adapting to Evolution

A core function of HR at Ledger is to determine who they want in the company and how to keep them engaged, happy, and satisfied for as long as possible.

Ledger treats its employees with the same depth of understanding and respect as it treats its clients, designing their experience based on their needs and “jobs to be done”.

The company’s values and principles are not merely displayed but are actively lived and infused into daily life and employee experience.
